She remembered a strong voice telling her to get out of his way. She remembered a quiver in his hands. She remembered an expression of desperation. She remembered a moment of hesitation. She remembered the red jet of a spell.

She remembered waking up in the Hospital Wing.

He remembered kneeling beside her stunned body, the corners of his eyes wet with frustrated and frightened tears, and a hand reaching out, shaking and scared. He remembered brushing hair from her forehead before straightening up and making his way slowly up the stairs.

He still remembered when she tried to save him.
